Now Auditioning for the 2022-2023 Dance Season!

All Embody Dance Company members will be selected through a 2-part audition process (video and in-person). Registration must be completed by August 12th.
First Round of Auditions:
After completing the audition registration, dancers will be expected to submit a video performing technique assigned by Miss JacLyn. The videos are included at the bottom of the page and have been assigned based on age groups.
Dancers 9 and older should choose assigned video based on their age as of December 31, 2022. NOTE: Dancers ages 5-8 are not required to submit an audition video. They only need to attend the in-person audition on July 10th.
Instructions on how to submit video auditions are included below.
Second Round of Auditions:
Saturday, August 13th
Ages 5 - 7: 12:45pm - 1:45pm
Ages 8 - 10: 2pm - 3pm
Ages 11 & Up: 3:30pm - 5:30pm

Advance online registration and video audition are mandatory. Walk-ins can not be accommodated.
Prior to attending Day 1 of auditions, dancers must complete THIS FORM.
Dancers will receive an email by 8/12/22 with assigned slots for the in-person audition. Please be sure to show up on-time, warmed up and ready to dance.
If your dancer is unable to attend the in-person auditions, please notify us immediately, via email.
Dancers will receive audition results, via email, by August 14, 2022.
Audition Attire: Dancers should be dressed in neat, professional looking dance attire. Specifically, females should wear black, camisole or tank leotard and pink convertible tights. Males should wear black fitted pants and white fitted t-shirt. Dancers should bring pink ballet slippers (black for male dancers), pointe shoes (if applicable) and jazz shoes. Hair should be neat pulled away from face, in a low bun.
Please bring an 4 X 6 headshot on the first day of auditions.

Video Audition Guidelines
Introduce yourself, including your name, age and favorite style of dance.
Perform the assigned video.
After your video audition has been created, upload it to an “unlisted” YouTube file (see instructions below).
Be sure to give the file an appropriate title and description (see instructions below). Copy/paste the URL into this form.
Please check your URL to ensure it is functioning properly before submitting.
Instructions:
Video Format: YouTube accepts any of the following video formats: .MOV, .MPEG4, MP4, .AVI, .WMV, .MPEGPS, .FLV, 3GPP, and WebM.
Upload: Follow these directions to upload your completed video to an unlisted YouTube file.
Go to www.youtube.com and sign in. If you don’t already have an account, create one.
Click the “UPLOAD” button at the top.
Either click on the “Select files to upload” box and select your video file from the directory or drag/drop your video file into the box.
In the “Basic Info” screen, enter the appropriate title (see instructions below) in the box where the filename appears.
In the box below the title, enter the name of your current dance studio as the description.
Change the privacy setting from “Public” to “Unlisted.”
Click “Done.”
When the video is finished, copy the URL and paste it into this form.
Title Format: Please title your audition file as follows. Begin with dancers age (ex. “8”), add a period, add your last name, add a period, and add your first name. For example, if Lucy Clark is 8 years old, she would use the title “8.Clark.Lucy.”
